Further information on Eze town
Whether it’s your first time to Eze or your tenth, you know you’ll always have a good time here. This excursion takes us to the lanes of Eze, a high-altitude village close to Côte d’Azur’s Astrorama.
An eagle’s nest
Eze is a superb village built on a rock promontory overlooking the sea. Its small narrow lanes ascend to a church and medieval castle. Throughout your climb around the village, you will find dozens of artisan workshops in former stables, positioned alongside houses. The artists give Eze a singular charm and punctuate your walk with lots of fascinating discoveries.
Grande Corniche Park
After your visit to the village, continue in the direction of Col d’Eze until you reach Grande Corniche Park. Located 600m above sea-level, it is one of those unusual places where you can be in the mountains and by the sea at the same time. It’s a lovely place to walk in, providing unbelievable views of Italy and the Esterel mountains!
For those with an inquisitive mind, the Maison de la Nature will be of interest. It hosts two exhibitions per year, one of them discusses Mediterranean flora, and the other considers the geology of the plateau.
The Astrorama
To make the most of the day, make a detour to Col d’Eze’s Astrorama. At various points throughout the year, the Astrorama holds "Ciel Ouvert" night-time observation programmes where you can use its telescopes and lenses with scientists on hand to offer help and advice
