We’re off on a trip along a section of the Siagne River that runs between the villages of Pégomas and Auribeau-sur-Siagne. In summer, the large trees that border the river offer welcome shade, while on sunny winter days, the same trees, accompanied by the clouds above are prettily reflected in the River Siagne.
To find the path start, take le restaurant de l’Ecluse route located at le stade de Pégomas roundabout. Leave your car near the restaurant and follow the path on foot.
The banks of the Siagne are lovely; en route, you’ll come across a playing field that children will love. It includes an ideal spot for enjoying picnics or snack breaks. Passing through this green patch of land, the path transforms into a trail, joining naturally occurring steps that lead to a body of water, marking the point where two rivers meet.
From here, you can choose either to continue walking along the Siagne, or turnaround and retrace your steps back to the car, or you can take the opportunity to visit Auribeau-sur-Siagne village.
Auribeau-sur-Siagne
Auribeau-sur-Siagne is a charming medieval village which is best seen on foot. The village boasts narrow lanes, covered passages and even fortifications dating back to the Middle Ages. Walking around its lanes, you will discover the beautiful works created by its painters and artisans.
In Pégomas, do not miss La Grande Fête du Mimosa held every January.
