Lucéram-Peira Cava climate station is located less than 40 km from Nice in the upper valley of Paillon. The commune is home to the medieval village of Lucéram and the high altitude resort of Peïra Cava, two territories of such contrasting characteristics and vegetation, offering diverse views and attractions.
THE TREASURE OF LUCERAM
One of the most important religious goldsmithery heritages in France
Lucéram village is home to a number of cultural and historic riches, including the famous Treasure of Lucéram, jealously guarded in the village’s southern chapel. Here, two reinforced plates of glass protect one of the most important treasures of religious goldsmithery in France and over 40 other classified pieces.
MUSEUM OF NATIVE CRIBS
A touch of Christmas all year round
Echoing the village’s Nativity Crib Trails held at the end of every year since 1998, the Museum of Nativity Cribs is located in a vaulted unit open to visitors all year round. It holds over 170 works: animated and Provençal cribs, cribs made of fabric or matches… crib figurines made of clothes pegs, wood, marrow seeds, cast iron and even chocolate!
LA GABELLE FARM
A weekend, rustic and gourmand table
Located on the St. Roch pass road in Lucéram, this locale belongs to the “Bienvenue à la Ferme” network, a quality standard for farms in France that offer hospitality packages. La Gabelle welcomes guests by reservation Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes all year round. When the weather is fine, seating is arranged around the wooden tables of the terrace, under the shade of a great oak. Out of season, seating is available in the glass-fronted hall, giving views of the valley. With home-made aperitif and coffee included, the €29 set menu is packed with local flavours and exclusively homemade dishes, such as terrines, raviolis, courgette tarts, and goat’s and sheep’s milk cheeses, also made on the farm, and jam tarts.
LES GRANGES DU LAC PARK
Adventure courses for young and old located in the great outdoors
This 30 hectare park, open from April to November, includes picnic tables and a range of tree adventure courses accessible to adults and children from 2 years of age up. The most daring adventurers can try the park’s 900m zip-line, the longest in France. For the complete adventure experience, the park offers nights under a teepee tent, the perfect end to an activity day in the great outdoors.
