The village of Carros centres around its 12th century château. Located in the middle of the Côte d’Azur’s coastal territories, and far from the urbanisation that distinguishes it from Carros town, Carros village remains inspoilt, maintaining a strong identity and retaining its traditions.
An open air walk for the whole family
Nature lovers have two walks available to them: Gabeyrée path and Pont de la Lune path. They do a 3km loop around the village, are accessible to anyone and are a great way to discover Carros’ Mediterranean wildlife.
Everything about the Côte d’Azur’s modern art
While you’re in Carros, make sure you visit the International Centre of Modern Art (le Centre International d’Art Contemporain) located in the medieval château in the centre of Carros village.
It hosts several temporary exhibitions as well as its own permanent collection of over 1700 pieces, representing art in the Côte d'Azur over the last few decades.
Refined Cuisine in rustic modern décor
For a lovely end to a day of walking and exploring, make your way to La Forge restaurant.
With its very up-to-date setting, this ancient communal inn with its stone walls and vaulted rooms is run by Claude and Karine Scutéri. Inside the large kitchen, Karine conjures elegant exclusively home-made dishes.
Her colourful and creative cuisine is seasonal; her specialities are based around truffle and edible flowers. The restaurant also has a lovely terrace which gives on to the village entrance, and is the perfect location for outdoor dining in good weather.
