Visit the Vésubie valley, around fifty kilometres from Nice, and discover the animals on Tom and Marie's farm and the picturesque village of Lantosque.
Tom and Marie's farm
Tom and Marie's farm is and educational farm; your guide's name is Valerie and she is there to welcome you when you arrive. The farm is more like a large American ranch with a big barn to protect the different farm animals: geese, ducks, chickens, donkeys, ponies, goats, sheep... all of which are raised with freedom to roam in the open air when they want to.
Valerie will also suggest that you take some of the animals for a walk in the woods and help with the farm chores, such as feeding the animals, cleaning them and looking after them.
All activities are geared to increase children's awareness of how animals live and to increase their respect for animals and the preservation of their habitat.
If your child is between 3 and 10, you can even organise their Birthday Party at Tom and Marie's farm. Valerie will look after everything: depending on your child's tastes she will organise the party around a theme... a treasure hunt, knights and princesses, the enchanted forest. You can have some time for yourself while the kids amuse themselves in the open air with the farm animals.
The village of Lantosque
Built on a rocky spur in the middle of the Vésubie valley, Lantosque has survived numerous earthquakes over the years.
The main street winds its way to the top of the village with a step every two or three paces, like a shallow staircase: on either side there are stone houses, sometimes in warm Mediterranean colours, or with sculpted doorways or arched passageways. On your way up you will pass by an ornate fountain dating back to 1866.
When you arrive at the top of the village there is the Church of Saint-Sulpice which has a beautiful XVII Century façade and sculpted door. From here you get a superb view of the village with its roofs of ochre coloured tiles.
On the way back, take the time to visit the nearby villages of Loda, Saint Colomba and Pelasque, which offer superb panoramas of the gorge of the Vésubie river.
