Roubion
High in the Nice mountains, surrounded by a thousand hectare forest and with a wall of rocks behind it, lays the village of Roubion with its typical mountain architecture. Just above the village, on the site of some ancient defensive walls, of which two round towers remain, are two benches that provide a pastoral resting point and breath-taking panoramic views.
SENTIERS D’INTERPRETATION
The treasures of Roubion and its surrounding area revealed by PDA
These routes, lasting between 1 and 2 hours, are brought alive with stories, images and video clips on a PDA that geolocates the routes’ amazing sites. One of the routes starts from the middle of the village and is available all year round; the other two cross the Buisse forest and surrounding hamlets, and are available outside of the winter season only. The Tourism office provides guide books that have been designed to direct walkers past numbered markers that reveal the territory’s heritage, natural surroundings, culture and history in a fun way.
GEOCACHING
Hiking treasure hunts combining nature and technology
