Notre-Dame church of the Assumption
Baroque style, the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption was dedicated in 1820 by Bishop Beausset, Archbishop of Aix. The building is of robust construction and its facade is of white limestone. The bell tower and ocher and pink is visible far as contrasted with the color of the sky. The interior has three aisles carrying a vault reinforced edges. They are divided into four bays with arcades, a cornice encircling the largest nave. The choir, housed in a rounded apse, surrounded by wood walls decorated with paintings. At the center of the church stands the main altar covered with marble. On either side stands an altar in honor of the Virgin and Saint Tropez. This church is a symbol of the city. |
