SAINT MARK'S CAMPANILE
Collapsed and rebuilt several times, the square tower dominates a corner of the Piazza San Marco from its 98m height. Near the Basilica of the same name, its platform offers a view over the symbolic square of Venice.
THE DOGE'S PALACE
Former Duke's Palace, seat of all power, this Venetian Gothic style palace set on St. Mark's Square on the Grand Canal presents a selection of architectural treasures and many works of art that adorn its walls and ceilings.
THE PALAZZO GRASSI
Located on the bank of the Grand Canal, this 18th Century palace is among the most recently built in Venice and houses a rich collection of over 2,000 works of modern and contemporary art.
Renovated by a Japanese architect, it presents, over 40 separate rooms, the collection of French businessman Francois Pinault.

THE CA 'D'ORO
The most famous Gothic building alongside the Doge's Palace, the 'Golden House' is named after the gilt that adorned its walls. The location is home to the art collection of Baron Giorgio Franchetti, mainly dedicated to Venetian painting.

WALK ALONG THE GRAND CANAL
4km long and 70m wide at its widest, the Grand Canal is crossed by three bridges, the Rialto Bridge (Ponte di Rialto), the Accademia Bridge (Ponte dell'Academia) and the Ponte Degli Scalzi. Gondolas, vaporetto, traghetto (large public gondola) and water taxi rides provide for beautiful river tours.
RIVER WALK IN VAPORETTO
Vaporetto number 82 lets you roam the Grand Canal day and night to see the main places of the city all the way to the beach, the Lido di Venezia.
ISLANDS CRUISE
Many islands of greater or lesser importance face Venice. The most famous are those of Murano, Burano and Torcello.
GO TO THE BEACH
In addition to the famous beach of the Hotel des Bains, one can discover the Bagni Alberoni at the southern tip of Lido. After taking a vaporetto to Lido, a bus leads to this long strip of sand bordered by dunes and pine trees.

THE SIX DISTRICTS OF VENICE
Venice is divided into six Sestieri (districts): San Marco, Castello and Cannaregio on one side of the Grand Canal and Santa Croce, San Polo and Dorsoduro on the other side.
THE SAINT MARK PIAZZA
Connected to the Grand Canal from the Piazzetta, this vast esplanade lined with grandiose monuments is always teeming with visitors. It is dominated by the Saint Mark Campanile by a column of a winged lion, a symbol of the omnipotence of Venice.
THE RIALTO BRIDGE
An emblem of the city, it was made of wood before being rebuilt in stone in its final version dated 1591. It consists of one large arch and is flanked by two rows of shops; it measures 28m in length.
THE BRIDGE OF SIGHS
This elegant stone bridge connects the Doge's Palace to the prisons ('Palace of the Lords of the Night'). We can imagine the journey between the courts and jails, the prisoners sighing on seeing the beautiful scenery of the lagoon of which they were going to deprived.
THE DORSODURO
Away from the magnificence of the Venetian palaces, this district of Venice offers a quaint atmosphere with its small-scale fishing district and quaint streets lined with even more intimate monuments.
