The Music Festival of Menton was held for the first time in 1950, but he was born in the mind of its creator, Andrew Böröcz in August 1949. At that time, the man discovers Menton and a thunderbolt when he saw the square Saint Michel and its beautiful Baroque Church,a real esplanade sea and the horizon.

Hearing a fiddle tune, André Böröcz enjoyed a wonder which marked the point that dreamed of creating a major festival of classical music, played on this site.

The first edition was held the following year and the most famous musicians took part: Robert Casadesus, Wilhelm Kempff, Marguerite long, Aldo Ciccolini, Sviatoslav Richter, Maria Pires Jaos, Jacques Thibaud, Jean Pierre Rampal, Isaac Stern, Rostropovich Mstilav ... Today nothing has changed, the perfect harmony between music and the place continues.
