On 5 January 2012, the town of Valbonne officially opened the doors to its new aquatic and wellbeing complex, Nautipolis. The complex has an internal floor space of 4000 m² and an external land surface of 10,200m². It is accessible to all and is divided into five spaces:
- Aquatic Space: a total of five pools, two of which are exclusively reserved for lane swimming and swimming lessons. Swimming lessons are offered to children aged 4+ years old. Kid’s Mania organises fun water based activities, such as water polo, diving, high diving and synchronised swimming.
The centre runs around 40 to 50 aqua-fitness sessions per week: aqua gym, aqua-biking and aqua-balance.
- Form Space: over 200m² floor space dedicated to group activities, such as Zumba, Sh’Bam, Body Pump, Bum-Tum and Thighs, and CX WORX. The space is also fitted with equipment for free practice. It is available to members and is open all year round.
- Wellbeing Space: saunas, hammams, jacuzzis as well as a relaxation space and a south-facing terrace.
- Green Spaces: planted in the middle of a vast green space, Nautipolis includes a 200m² solarium, beautiful lawns and beach-volley ball courts.
The complex generates its own electricity using various modern technologies (solar panels, solar heating panels and solar mats) in order to reduce its carbon footprint and play its part in protecting the environment.
- Restaurant: all three restaurant spaces, restaurant, tapas bar and sunny terrace, serve healthy and original food.
The Centre Nautipolis was built to be accessible to all, which is why it is fitted with equipment to accommodate persons with reduced mobility, impaired vision or poor hearing, such as pool hoists, accessible equipment and horizontal and vertical signage.
