Tourism Gourdon
Château de Gourdon
Its sturdy bulk dominates the feudal village built like an eagle's nest above the Loup valley, surveying the Mediterranean shore. Built in the 9th century and owned by the Counts of Provence until 1235, it was entirely restructured during the French Revolution Revolution (towers lowered by one storey, keep to the north destroyed) in pure Provençal style. Its terraced gardens are attributed to André Le Nôtre. E-mail : contact@château-gourdon.com Website : www.chateau-gourdon.com |
