THE ARC DE TRIOMPHE

At the top of the Champs-Élysées in place de l'Étoile, this symbolic national monument has pride of place at the top of the road connecting the Louvre to the Grande Arche de la Défense. Famous for being the biggest arch in the world, it was built in 1806 at Napoleon's request to celebrate his victory in Austerlitz. A visit to the arch offers an unobstructed view over the world's most beautiful avenue.

THE LOUVRE

A former Royal Palace, it houses a museum which is Paris' largest by surface area (210,000 m2, 60,600 of which is devoted to exhibitions) and the world's most visited. THE BANKS OF THE SEINE
