SIGHTS
THE SAGRADA FAMILIA
Listed as a World Heritage Site and elevated to the rank of Basilica by Benoit XVI, this symbolic monument is Spain's most visited and is still under construction. An unfinished work by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, he devoted 40-years of his life to it and now rests in its crypt. The climb of the 90m towers (via a 426-step staircase or lift) offers a breathtaking panoramic view over Barcelona.

THE CASA MILA or PEDRERA
An "undulating" architectural building typical of Gaudi's work, access to the roof and the courtyard is free and one of the apartments is open to visitors.

BARCELONA AQUARIUM
One of the world's largest aquariums dedicated to Mediterranean marine life, it houses 11,000 specimens and 450 species. Its spectacular Oceanarium, which is the only one of its kind in Europe, lets you walk through an 80m long transparent tunnel. Licensed divers, both young and old, can dive with the sharks.

EL POBLE
An area dedicated to Art during the 1929 World Expo and a real architectural museum, this "village" showcases every style of Spanish construction (Aragon, Andalusia and Gallic etc). The walk between the houses, streets, squares and buildings which are so characteristic of Iberian architecture is dotted with many bars and restaurants.

THE BARCA MUSEUM
A private collection recounting the history of football from its beginnings, temporary exhibitions, an archive and video centre, an exhibition of trophies, photos, shirts, posters and press articles, this museum tells the history of the mythical Catalan football club over the last century.
A ticket to the museum includes a guided tour of Barça's stadium, THE CAMP NOU. With a capacity of 98,787, it is the biggest stadium in Europe and one of the largest in the world too.

THE PALACE OF CATALAN MUSIC
Listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this concert hall, the most prestigious in Barcelona, is the work of a famous modernist Catalan architect. Mainly dedicated to symphonic music and recitals, it also holds modern music concerts.

PLACES OF INTEREST
PARC GUELL
Located to the South of Barcelona just a 20 min walk from the Lesseps metro stop, this 17-hectare park designed by Gaudi offers an unbeatable view of the city. Vegetation, caves and twisting pathways start from the two pavilions at the entrance and lead towards the hypostyle hall boasting one hundred symbolic columns, and the famous giant and undulating bench in the shape of a snake entirely decorated with ceramic.
THE RAMBLAS
The Rambla is the main street which crosses the city from Place de la Catalunya to the foot of the Christopher Columbus statue in the old port area. This large central pedestrianised street dotted with shops, kiosks and terraces is split into 5 sections which open out onto Barcelona's old districts.
MONTJUIC HILL AND ITS CABLE CAR
Host of the Olympic Games in 1992, this hill boasts museums, monuments and attractions. The top can be reached on foot and via several escalators from Placa d'Espagna to the National Palace. A spectacular journey by cable car allows you to complete the steep descent to Port Vell.
BARRIO GOTICO
Barcelona's oldest district is a testimony to the Catalan capital's Roman past and reveals its Gothic richness. Around Barcelona Cathedral, Placa Nova, Placa Santa Jaume and among the maze of narrow streets, you will find ruins, fortifications, buildings and charming little squares.
