1972 : Biological Weapons Convention On April 10, 1972, 72 countries including the United States and Soviet Union signed the convention banning biological weapons.
1998 : Peace Agreement for Northern Ireland On April 10, 1998, the Peace Agreement for Northern Ireland (Good Friday Agreement) was signed after 30 years of undeclared war and bloody attacks. This is a phenomenal success for Prime Minister Tony Blair and Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern.
2009 : President Takes Absolute Power in Fiji On April 10, 2009, the Fijian President Josefa Iloilo suspended the Constitution, revoked all judges and took absolute power. It renamed Frank Bainimarama as Prime Minister, while his government had been declared illegal by a court of the country.
2010 : Crash of Polish Air Force Tu-154 in Russia On 10 April 2010, the Air Force Tu-154 flight carrying the Polish President, Lech Kaczynski, his wife and many Polish dignitaries crashed near Smolensk in Russia. The cause of the accident was apparently a pilot error.
