1962 : Train accident in JapanOn 3 May 1962, a train accident involving two commuter trains and a freight train near Tokyo, Japan killed 160 people and injured 350 others. The freight train had not complied with a warning and had been diverted. In so doing, driving too fast, it was derailed on a parallel track. The first commuter train could not avoid the carriages of the freight train being on its way. While the survivors, escaped from the train, due to the fact that no train had been warned of the crash, a second commuter train arrived at the scene of the accident and the crash that followed was even more terrible than the first one. |
